Greg Carpenter, CEO, Boopsie & OCLC’s Partner WorldCat Mobile Pilot

Mr. Greg Carpenter is an established leader in the field of technological convergence regarding merchandise, music and entertainment on the Internet.  He has developed several mobile service applications including RSSHome.com, 1800Message.com and all client software for Integrated Media Measurement Inc (IMMI.com).

Mr. Carpenter served as Chief Technology Officer for Ralph Lauren Media, LLC (RLM).  RLM is a joint venture between Polo Ralph Lauren and NBC.  He successfully designed and launched the online e-commerce and branding presence of Polo Ralph Lauren at Polo.com.

Prior to joining RLM, Carpenter was the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Office of the ground breaking Digital Entertainment Network, Inc. (DEN).

Before joining DEN, Carpenter was the Director of Marketing for Microsoft’s Windows Media Technologies.  He led the marketing and product technology of such ventures as the Windows Media Player, Windows Media Services and other Windows Media technologies.  As his tour de force in this role, Carpenter shaped the technological position and launch success of the breakthrough internet audio format, Windows Media Audio, which was considered by many to be a key event in galvanizing Microsoft’s streaming media and music industry efforts.

Carpenter led the company’s development of Visual FoxPro, and was an original team member to shape Microsoft’s strategic direction for the Internet.
