Ryan Deschamps, e-Learning Manager, Halifax Public Libraries

Ryan Deschamps is the e-Learning Manager at the Halifax Public Libraries in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.   In this capacity, he oversees the maintenance and continued development of the library website, manages public access to technology and works with partner organizations to help the community gain access to needed information and services online.  Recently, he spear-headed his library's involvement in Podcamp Halifax, the very first podcamp in Atlantic Canada.

Ryan's background includes significant training in public policy analysis, economics and strategic planning to go along with core library technology knowledge.   Upon graduation, he received the Louis Vagianos medal awarded to the student "who combines the capacity for blending originality with practical thinking and the courage to seek solutions to professional problems outside the mainstream."  His blogosphere nom de plume is "The Other Librarian."
