EDITOR'S NOTE
A LibGuiding Light
by Brandi Scardilli

I don't know about you, but I find it difficult to keep up with all of the news coming out of Washington. Day after day, we hear about the latest alleged corruption, conspiracy, or covfefe. Luckily, George Pike has a solution, and I bet you already know the answer: Let libraries help. His feature, "Libraries Keep a Resourceful Eye on the President," is an overview of various LibGuides that librarians are producing to help the public (and themselves) make sense of the ever-expanding heap of information being shoveled at us daily from the White House and Congress.

Of course, libraries are good for more than just sharing the facts, although that is obviously important. In "The Funding Battle Is Not Over," Corilee Christou takes us through the history of libraries to remind us of their resilience. In the face of looming federal budget cuts, they are not backing down, and the Corporate Committee for Library Investment (CCLI) partnership between businesses and the American Library Association is making sure Congress knows it.

Justin Hoenke is back for Part 3 of Tales From the Library Trenches. He gives his tips for thriving as a library director once you've decided that's the career path you want. Brendan Howley has a story to tell you about his upcoming road trip in The Razor's Edge. And We the People gets you up close and personal with Information Today's regular contributors.

Happy reading! Brandi Scardilli
