Amanda Clay Powers, Reference Librarian, Mitchell Memorial Library, Mississippi State University

Amanda Clay Powers is the Virtual Reference Manager and Agriculture and Life Sciences Reference Librarian at MSU.  She teaches workshops on Using Emerging Technologies for Research, Managing Identity in Social Networks, Social Networking for K-12 Librarians, Social Networking for Public Libraries, as well as conducting training for library staff in various Emerging Technologies. She received her MLIS from Simmons College Graduate School for Library and Information Science in 2005 while on staff at MIT's Dewey Library. Amanda's current research focus is on social media and virtual reference.
