EDITOR'S NOTE
An Attitude of Gratitude
by Brandi Scardilli

Goodbye, 2020. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. I hope you found things that brought you joy, a sense of comfort, and faith in the goodness of humanity this year despite the chaos around us. Here’s my list: Diary of a Future President on Disney+; Love, Victor on Hulu; Never Have I Ever on Netflix; Ted Lasso on Apple TV+; Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist on NBC (available on Peacock); the American Royals novels by Katharine McGee; Humankind: A Hopeful History by Rutger Bregman; podcasts Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best, Category Is …, The Happiness Lab, and Life Is Short With Justin Long; and YouTube series The Blindfold Bakeoff from Christy Carlson Romano, Reunited Apart from Josh Gad, and Some Good News from John Krasinski.

Practicing gratitude is always a good way to get into a better frame of mind. I gathered thoughts from some info pros about what they’re grateful for in their work lives and new technologies they discovered this year (page 14). Chi Nwogu shares another game that inspires learning (page 12). And Anthony Aycock looks on the bright side of his experiences with starting a law school library and then watching it close (page 10).

The EContent section has a new column called Outside the Box (page 35), by Michelle Fitzhugh-Craig. She calls it “a column for small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals looking for ways to embrace technology and make it work for them.”

See you in 2021. Brandi Scardilli
