David Folmar, Library and Media Specialist, iSchool TRACE Center, University of Maryland
David Folmar

He has been an early adopter of digital technology starting with his first TI-80. David has 20 years expierence in Media and worked in libraries for 6 years as a Digital Literacy Librarian and then as Computer Literacy, Emerging Technology Librarian and Branch manager.  Currently he works for the Univeristy of Maryland  TRACE center in the iSchool.   

The Trace center has been a leader in research and development in the field of technology and disability since 1971.  Their purpose is to prevent barriers and capitalize on opportunities presented by standard and emerging technology, in order to create a world that is as accessible and usable as possible, for as many people as possible.

David's current work with TRACE concerns interface design and accessability and digital literacy.  As a librarian he has spoken at Computer and Libraries twice and has a two books published by Rowman & Littlefield on using Gamification as a community engagement tool and Digital Literacy programs.
