Candace Main Rush, Library Media Specialist, Park View High School Library Media Center

Candace Main Rush is currently in her ninth year as Library Media Specialist at Park View High School in Sterling, Virginia. She has over thirty-six years’ experience in school, public and special libraries as well as several years as a professional indexer. This experience includes starting four elementary school libraries in the Kearsarge New Hampshire School District, a stint as the Children’s librarian at the Southbury Connecticut Public Library (doubling as a librarian for regularly visiting elementary classes from the school next door) and twenty- one years working for the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) in Washington, D.C. She received her BA from DePauw University, her MA from Tufts University, and her MLS from Simmons Graduate School of Library Science.
