A new school for a new century — Most of our staff have taught in our 80-year-old building throughout their teaching careers

THE MEDIA CENTER column focuses on building a new school and media center. Says that it has been 14 years since the first of three failed building referenda, and three years since passing of the successful bond referendum. Describes the building progress in phases: phase one deals with program planning, and notes that teachers, administrators, architects, a board member, and community members made up the committee; phase two describes concept planning, including the media center's location; phase three details rough blueprints; phase four relates that persistence, planning, and participation paid off with the media center located in the middle of the Y-shaped school; and phase five focuses on the final infrastructure and technology planning.
