PRODUCT REVIEWS column presents a very favorable review of Kid Keys 2.0 ($80/single user) from Knowledge Adventure of Torrance, CA (800). Requires Microsoft Windows 95/98, a Pentium 90 or faster, 16MB RAM, and a Windows-compatible sound card; or a Power Macintosh, System 7.5.3 or higher and 32MB RAM. Says both systems require 256-color graphics and a 4X CD-ROM drive, noting that a printer is recommended. Explains that this program teaches students the alphabet, the computer keyboard, and use of a mouse, with the focus on letter names, phonics skills, and keyboard use for students in pre-K through second grade. Relates that the school version includes a 60-page booklet of activities designed for use before, during, and after working at the computer. Says review especially likes the phonetic approach to finding the letters and learning the beginning sounds. Highly recommends it. Rated five on a scale of one to five. Includes one screen display and a scorecard.
