Sonja Plummer-Morgan, Library Director, Mark and Emily Turner Library VP/Pres Elect Maine Library Association, ALA's AAUP, Association for Rural & Small Libraries Board Member, Second Life Librarian

Sonja Plummer-Morgan is a rural, public library director in Northern Maine.  After finishing a BS in Library and Information Technology, she continued on with a full scholarship to the University of South Carolina where she received a Master of Library and Information Science.  Prior to accepting a position for the City of Presque Isle, Sonja worked at a library director in Moab, Utah and in a school library in Southern Maine.  Sonja is currently serving as VP/Pres Elect of the Maine Library Association and is involved in several projects to encourage online social networking in the workplace and the use of virtual environments to connect patrons and colleagues globally to help mitigate rural isolation.
