Space Academy GX-1

Presents a very favorable review of Space Academy GX-1 ($60) from
Edmark Corp. of Redmond, WA (800). Requires a minimum of Windows 95,
and a 90MHz Pentium computer for a PC; and system 7.5.6 and a Power
PC for Macintosh; both require 16MB RAM, a 640x480 monitor, and a 2X
CD-ROM drive. States that as crew members of the Space Academy,
students investigate space science concepts through interactive
missions and experiments related to understanding the solar system.
Says that the content covers the Earth, sun, and moon as they affect
night, day, and the seasons; solar system facts and the position of
the planets; orbit trajectories, inertia, and Newton's Laws of
Motion. Notes that it is recommended for third to sixth graders, and
with the emphasis on accountability and mastery of standards, this
CD-ROM is outstanding. Rated five on a scale of one to five.
Contains one scorecard and a screen display.
