Information Today, Inc. Unites with Online, Inc.

May 14, 2002, Medford, NJ — Tom Hogan, Sr. announced today during the opening session of the InfoToday conference that Information Today, Inc. has acquired the assets of Online Inc., a Wilton, Connecticut based publishing company and event producer.

Online, Inc. was founded in 1976 and is a recognized B2B media and event producer. The company publishes a variety of magazines, Web sites, and electronic newsletters for technology, information, and content professionals and produces a number of conferences and trade shows. Adam Pemberton, president & CEO of Online, Inc., said, “Tom and I have discussed this combination several times over the years, and I’m very pleased with the structure and timing. The product combinations between Online and ITI are terrific, and so are the people in both organizations. I’m looking forward to working with the ITI team.”

Information Today, Inc. is a publisher and conference organizer in the information and knowledge management industries. While the company is widely known as the publisher of leading information industry titles such as Information Today, Searcher, ONLINE, Computers in Libraries, and KMWorld among others, this acquisition brings ITI’s product line to a new level. Tom Hogan, Sr., president of Information Today, Inc., said, “We are inheriting a legacy of editorial excellence and associating ourselves with a group of dedicated publishing and conference organizing professionals. We couldn’t be happier with this outcome—it is the culmination of many years of getting to know one another.”

Included in the acquisition are the publications EContent, a source for strategies and resources for the digital content industry, and EMedia, which covers the tools and technologies that professionals use to publish, archive, distribute, and network digital content. In addition, the conferences WebSearch University, Buying & Selling eContent, and Intranets (now co-located with KMWorld 2002) will now be produced and managed by Information Today, Inc.

Online, Inc. key personnel will stay on in the Wilton, Connecticut office, including former Online Inc. executives Andrew Pemberton, vice president & publisher; Adam Pemberton, president & CEO; and Nancy Garman, vice president, Conferences & Publications.
