Presents a very favorable review of Online Reader CD-ROM and Web Editions ($995 to start) from EBSCO Publishing of Ipswich, MA (800, 978). Describes the product as a database of text articles, tests, and management tools designed to improve student reading comprehension and standardized test-taking skills for students in grades 4-12. Requires (for stand-alone use) a 486 or greater computer, Windows 95/NT, 16MB RAM, a monitor with a VGA video card, and use of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Relates that use of the Web edition requires contacting EBSCO to set up an account with password access. Says that teachers can use it to improve student comprehension of informational material, provide background information, improve student test-taking skills, and much more. Rated five on a scale of one to five. Contains a screen display and a scorecard.
