July 15, 2002, Medford, NJ — The program is now available online (www.infotoday.com/il2002) for the Internet Librarian conference, to be held November 4-6, 2002, at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, California. Internet Librarian is sponsored and organized by Medford, New Jersey-based publisher Information Today, Inc. (ITI).

Now in its sixth year, Internet Librarian is the only conference designed for information professionals who are using, developing, and embracing Internet and Web-based strategies in their roles as information searchers, guides, Webmasters and Web managers, content evaluators and organizers, product developers, and more. Over a 3-day period, Internet Librarian will feature more than 100 dynamic speakers in four simultaneous tracks:

Navigating the Net—Featuring the stellar writers and columnists of Searcher and ONLINE magazines, two of the leading publications in the field. Topics include searching strategies and techniques, search engines, and how to help others navigate the Net by using virtual services.

Intranet & Portal Applications—What could be more important for Internet Librarians than internal applications of their skills? The first 2 days of the Intranet & Portal Applications program focus on the technology, tools, and applications for creating and using successful intranets and portals. Day three looks at key strategies for continued success.

E-Content & E-Skills—Focusing on digital rights management, digitalization, and content management, as well as the training and e-learning necessary to develop skills for dealing with the increasing amount and availability of e-content.

Web World—What can be expected of the Internet and the Web in the year to come? Find out with the Web World program stream, which will look at the latest in Web design, development, and usability; wireless applications and systems; and operations that are changing in the Web and library worlds.

Internet Librarian 2002 also features four keynote sessions and more than 20 in-depth learning events and workshops. A fun and informative evening session, hosted by Reva Basch, executive editor of the “Super Searcher” series of books from Information Today, Inc., will take place on Tuesday, November 5. Joined by the authors and editors of the series, Basch and experts will share research tips, stories, and tactics for staying current, searching effectively, and dealing with constant change.

The Internet@Schools conference will once again co-locate with Internet Librarian. An intensive, focused conference, Internet@Schools is designed especially for school librarians and media center specialists to address practical concerns, strategies, and applications and to share tools and techniques. This event is sponsored by the Gale Group, NCS Learn, and MultiMedia Schools magazine.
