Information and Knowledge Communities Converge at InfoToday 2001

January 30, 2001, Medford, NJ — Information Today, Inc. (ITI) is pleased to announce that InfoToday 2001, the global conference and exhibition on electronic information and knowledge management, will take place May 15-17, at the New York Hilton and Towers in New York City.

As the interests and responsibilities of information professionals, IT professionals, and knowledge managers converge in today’s enterprises, InfoToday 2001 is the only conference and exhibition where these communities can interact and learn from each other’s experiences and knowledge. This year’s program offers over 140 sessions and workshops, and features three simultaneous core conferences—National Online, KnowledgeNets, and E-Libraries. Individually, each is a unique, community-oriented conference, but combined, the conferences highlight and leverage the common interests of all those involved in these three fields.

National Online 2001 will focus on information content as well as on information delivery technologies and brings together a stimulating blend of information industry innovators and practitioners.

KnowledgeNets 2001 will provide complete coverage of knowledge management and its applications within today’s organization. It will include practical programs and case studies on the theories, practices, processes, tools, and solutions for enterprise knowledge networks.

E-Libraries 2001 will cater to the needs of library managers and technology specialists. Covering the latest developments in library systems and services, this conference focuses specifically on the distribution and management of information through corporate, academic, and public libraries and information centers.

Keynotes
This year’s event is highlighted by three powerful keynote speakers, all leaders in the information and knowledge management communities: David Snowden, director, Institute for Knowledge Management, IBM; Tom Davenport, director for Strategic Change, Accenture; and, Robert E. Kahn, president, Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI). Topics include Managing Digital Objects on the Net; Innovation, Knowledge Management, and Corporate Success; and, Knowledge Management and Beyond.

This year’s exhibition hall will be filled with a variety of companies with products and services to help organizations manage information and knowledge successfully. Special floor areas are dedicated to knowledge management, e-business, and library systems. The InfoToday 2001 exhibit hall will also feature hands-on “cybertours,” complimentary receptions, and a presentation theater that will house free workshops.
