divine/Faxon Library Services Launches New Renewal Module for kLibrary

divine/Faxon Library Services has announced the launch of a new renewal module for kLibrary, its premier integrated Web-based service. The new kLibrary renewal functionality allows clients to manipulate their renewal checklists online; mark titles for renewal or cancellation; and make all necessary quantity, fund, and other changes to the titles. Users can also send notes to their client service representative for review and record their own local notes on the system.

By alerting clients when their renewal checklists become available, kLibrary makes it easy and convenient to review renewal information online. In addition, kLibrary's comprehensive search functions allow clients to select any portion of their list to review. For example, all orders for a specific ship-to address or fund can be selected and then quickly e-mailed to faculty and departments for recommendations and approval.

kLibrary's new functionality also greatly streamlines the renewal and budgeting process by keeping a running dollar total of the various categories of titles in process. This is then instantly updated as publications are marked for renewal or nonrenewal, or held for future decision. Combined with the system's current features and ease of use, these new enhancements make kLibrary an unparalleled service in the industry today, according to the company.

Users of kLibrary can assign various levels of security for the new renewal module. An administrator at each client site will be able to change user permissions and passwords for his or her staff.

In addition to the new renewal functionality available in kLibrary, clients will also be able to view their renewal checklist in Adobe PDF. This feature provides access to renewal information and other important documents, and has the potential to significantly reduce the amount of paper that a library receives from Faxon. Clients can then forward these documents and post them electronically within the organization.
