Reuters Chooses iCopyright Instant Clearance Service for Rights and Permissions

iCopyright.com has announced that Reuters.com, the online presence of the global information, news, and technology group, now offers the iCopyright Instant Clearance Service. By clicking on the iCopyright icon, readers can license, purchase, and receive content instantly. Readers can also submit requests for custom reprint bids.

"Reuters is one of the most respected names in media today," said Mike O'Donnell, iCopyright's CEO. "With the iCopyright Instant Clearance Service, Reuters can protect its brand integrity while automating its licensing process."

"The iCopyright Instant Clearance Service makes it easy for readers to purchase reprints and other reuse rights," said Lavinia Calvert, Reuters Media's executive vice president and publisher. "By streamlining the permissions and request process, we offer readers a way to use our world-class content while complying with copyright law."

The iCopyright Instant Clearance works as follows: When readers click on the iCopyright icon at the top of the page, they are asked to choose whether they are licensing the content for commercial or nonprofit use. Then they are presented with a list of licensing options and prices. Readers can select instant Web reprints or encrypted "quick print" Adobe PDFs and receive the content and license instantly. Readers can also use the Instant Clearance Service to purchase a photocopy license or to request a bid for custom reprints. Reuters can track all licensing activity through iCopyright Publisher Central, a secure account management extranet.

iCopyright invented the Instant Clearance Service, the only digital rights management solution that licenses and fulfills content instantly. It includes iCopyright Publisher Central, a suite of Web-based tools and services that enables publishers to manage their online licensing and reprints business; Reprint Central, which allows reprint providers to receive and process sales leads through the Instant Clearance Service; and iCopyright Clip and Copy, the only news-clipping service that returns results that can be instantly licensed for reuse.
