| Dialog Corp. has announced that it has added The National Post,
one of two national daily newspapers in Canada, to its online services.
The company also announced that it has entered an alliance with BioSpace,
Inc., a provider of a Web site that offers information and resources to
life science professionals (http://www.biospace.com).
The National Post
Launched in 1998,
The National Post offers a strong focus on
news, business, and commentary. Its daily readership approaches 1 million.
The newspaper's business and financial news section, The Financial Post,
previously had been available on the Dialog services but now is available
in full-text form. Other sections ofThe National Post — including
News, Science and Technology, Commentary, Sports, Diversions, and Arts
and Leisure — are all now available.
The National Post is the latest addition to Dialog's portfolio
of international news content. The company recently launched its NewsRoom
service, an online database that combines more than 6,500 news sources.
The
National Post
and The Financial Post are included in NewsRoom.
The National Post can also be electronically searched on the
Dialog service in files 601 (early-bird service) and 727 (archives, starting
the day after publication). The Financial Post continues to be available
in File 727.
BioSpace Agreement
Through the alliance with BioSpace, Dialog has made portions of the
content it collects from thousands of information providers around the
world available through BioSpace's Web site. From anywhere within the site,
users are able to click through to Dialog where they can search for articles,
reports, and documents published in dozens of databases. Users can purchase
the full text of desired documents online with a credit card.
The initial Dialog content available to BioSpace users includes clinical
databases, worldwide patents and related intellectual property documentation,
world news that's focused on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries,
and an extensive array of scientific literature.
