The information industry is on the brink of “realizing a library experience that is streamlined for patrons and librarians alike,” according to Pam Cory.

“Software as a Service (SaaS) is quickly becoming the optimal delivery model for library services; a single, unified knowledgebase as the foundation—with thoughtfully integrated services to orchestrate all aspects of the library, including managing collections, streamlining workflows for print and digital, and discovering resources,” she says.

Cory recently joined Serials Solutions, a ProQuest business, as vice president of marketing and global market development. In her new role, Cory will drive the growth strategy for the business and increase brand awareness of the company’s industry-leading solutions.

Cory says her team is focused on maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and on driving global expansion. “Serials Solutions is experiencing tremendous growth in new markets outside North America,” she says, “and we are aligning all parts of the organization to support libraries worldwide as they move toward discovery across the breadth of their collections and total library workflow management.”

Because Serials Solutions communicates with customers in more than 70 countries, Cory says the company must tailor value propositions to articulate localized customer benefits clearly, including translations in 10-plus languages. “Putting together a process for serving our global customer arena was a top priority from the start and a wonderful opportunity to share our services with libraries around the world,” she says.

For the long term, the company’s mission is to “develop solutions that give libraries the ability to integrate the benefits of electronic content and web-based tools across all areas of research and infrastructure, and ultimately enable exhilarating patron experiences, efficient use of librarians’ time and talents, and optimize the wealth of information available to researchers,” says Cory.

Cory’s mission is clear: “We strive to support libraries and librarians today and into the future,” she says, “as they transform their services to support their ever-changing communities.”
