MediaFORM Launches cdDIRECTOR2000

MediaFORM, a manufacturer of CD-R/DVD-R publishing solutions for the audio/video and data industries, has announced the release of cdDIRECTOR2000. This Java-based CD-R publishing station provides corporations with a flexible production system for disc-on-demand and large-volume CD-R duplication needs. Also featured in this publishing system is MediaFORM's anti-piracy SmartDRIVE technology, which includes Electronic Watermarking, Copy Protection, SmartMEDIA, Frame Accurate Recording, Audio Click Detection, SmartRID, and SmartSTAMP.

Utilizing the Java scripting capability, users can initiate CD-R disc-on-demand compilation from any network interface, including their own Web browsers. This technology allows one-off CD publishing and/or duplication from local or remote locations. According to the company, combining Web-based technology and the SmartDRIVE feature set creates a publishing system unprecedented within the CD-R disc-on-demand market segment.

The cdDIRECTOR2000 technology was developed to meet disc-on-demand needs of both small and large businesses. Built upon Windows NT workstation (requires no additional PC), the cdDIRECTOR2000 also offers SmartAPI (Application Program Interface), which provides the mechanism for seamless integration of the product into a company's custom software applications. Other business-centric enhancements incorporated into the cdDIRECTOR2000 include the following:

  • 500-CD spindle capacity
  • Eight anti-piracy SmartDRIVEs
  • Windows NT
  • Java-based client

  • Asynchronous functionality (duplicate and print simultaneously)
