SIRS Mandarin, Inc. Releases New NetSelect Online Guide

SIRS Mandarin, Inc. has announced that SIRS NetSelect, a new online guide to Internet resources, is now available to the public via the SIRS Knowledge Source online interface. According to the company, users can now access safe, informative, and educational Internet resources on a broad range of subjects.

The information in SIRS NetSelect sites spans a wide variety of topics, including business, government, science, education, culture, music, the visual arts, and more. SIRS NetSelect’s topic structure is modeled on SIRS’ article-reference databases—SIRS Researcher, SIRS Government Reporter, SIRS Renaissance, and SIRS Discoverer Deluxe. SIRS NetSelect also offers SIRS Knowledge Source research aids such as source information, tagging, and e-mail.

SIRS NetSelect’s information is provided by editors with advanced degrees in library science, history, and English, who evaluate Internet resources from around the globe, including those of government agencies, universities, and nonprofit organizations. According to the announcement, SIRS staff writes summaries for all SIRS NetSelect sites, many of which contain visually powerful graphics, primary source materials, and up-to-the-minute information not found anywhere else.

SIRS NetSelect is available to existing SIRS Knowledge Source users. Subscribers to SIRS Research online can purchase SIRS NetSelect at a special 50-percent-off discount price.
