Samuel King, Library manager, Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences
Samuel King has been active in libraries for 36 years. An MLS graduate of Dalhousie University, Halifax, N.S., he has served as Music Librarian for Dalhousie, Head of Reference Services at the Nova Scotia College of Agriculture and Director of the Victoria Hospital library system in Halifax/Dartmouth, N.S. Moving to the United States, his interest in patient care led him to the position of Clinical Librarian at Bridgeport Hospital, Yale University System. He later accepted the position of Director of Library Services for the Optima Health System in Manchester, N.H., overseeing the operations of the Elliot and Catholic Medical Center health care libraries. Sam joined MCPHS in 2001 and has regularly taught informatics courses at that institution. His publishing record reflects this interest. He is currently Manager of the Manchester campus library and enjoys living in the country with his wife, two cats and music studio.
