Dave McLaughlin, Web Services Manager, Harford County Public Library

Before coming to the library world, I studied Digital Communications and Design. As Web Services Manager for Harford County Public Library (MD), I designed, programmed, and launched the library's new website at the beginning of 2010, as well as HCPL Mobile, a web app for iPhone, Android, and webOS devices. Since launching our app, I've been contacted by library systems around the country, from NYPL to the Alaska State Library, interested in how the app was programmed, its budget, etc. I presented during the "YOU’VE BEEN iPHONED: Coming Out Ahead in a Mobile World" session at the Maryland Library Association Annual Conference in April 2010.
