Jen Waller, Interdisciplinary Librarian, King Library, Miami University

Jen Waller works in the Miami University Libraries' Reference and Collection Services unit as the Interdisciplinary Librarian. In this role she provides library services to interdisciplinary programs and initiatives across campus and manages the Library's scholarly communications programs and services, including open access advocacy, author rights, copyright, and new forms of information dissemination and scholarly publishing.

Prior to attending graduate school and joining the MU Libraries, Jen worked in the "corporate world" as the Marketing Communications Manager for JanSport, Inc. and as the Manager of Project Management for a digital imaging company serving corporate clients such as Starbucks, Eddie Bauer, Coldwater Creek, and Adidas. Jen has also worked as a professional chef, and cooking remains one of her passions.

Jen chairs the Libraries' Scholarly Communication Committee and co-facilitates Miami's Faculty Learning Community (FLC) on Scholarly Communication. Additionally, she serves on the Miami University Senate and Miami's Interdisciplinary Advisory Council, and she is an affiliate instructor for Miami's Armstrong Institute for Interactive Media Studies (AIMS). Her research interests include scholarly publishing issues, information behavior, and interdisciplinary research methods. Jen is currently conducting research on faculty perceptions of Open Access.
