Hewlett Packard HP 2500CM color inkjet network printer
by Mike Ballard

Presents a very favorable review of the HP 2500CM ($1,450), a color inkjet network printer from the Hewlett Packard Company of Palo Alto, CA (650). Reports that with 20MB RAM (upgradable to 76MB) and Adobe PostScript 3, it is a network-ready printer for Macintosh, Windows, and DOS computers and is designed for immediate work group connectivity with a built-in print server. Requires 50MB of hard disk space for 11 x 17 printing, and graphic-intensive files may require more disk space. Says that it requires the support and assistance of a network administrator or knowledgeable person with the ability to create, maintain, and authorize access to network printers and print queues. Recommends it for mixed Macintosh/Windows environments or for color and/or large format printing capability. Rated five on a scale of one to five. Includes one photo and a scorecard.
