Founded in 1988 by Tommy Iseskog, Aktuell Arbetsrätt produces a range of products, including a Web-based database and a newsletter to meet lawyers’ and human resource specialists’ needs for current news and in-depth information on employment law.
The acquisition will strengthen Fakta Info Direkt’s leading position in the human resources information market. It will also provide an opportunity for the further development of its growing number of electronic products.
“We are delighted to add Aktuell Arbetsrätt products to Fakta’s portfolio in Sweden,” said Mike Boswood, managing director of Thomson Legal & Regulatory–Europe. “They are complementary and will add important expert content and advice. The Internet database will be an excellent addition to our current digital offerings.”
The operations of Aktuell Arbetsrätt will be migrated to Fakta Info Direkt in Stockholm, Sweden. A long-term contract with Isekog will ensure updating and cooperation on future product development.
Isekog said: “I am confident that Fakta and Thomson will continue to provide high-quality products and services to our customers. I am also impressed with Thomson’s expertise in the area of electronic information and look forward to working together with them in the future.”
Maria Hamrefors, managing director of Fakta Info Direkt, said: “Employment law is an area of high importance to organizations in our country, and the market is extremely demanding. Aktuell Arbetsrätt has proven its ability to meet these demands. By combining Aktuell Arbetsrätt’s domain knowledge and our experience in electronic development, we are in an excellent position to take advantage of new opportunities as the electronic information market continues to grow.”
