|Infotrieve, a provider of article research and delivery, has announced
an agreement with CatchWord that will provide two-way linking of content
and partnership on certain cooperative activities. Infotrieve has also
announced new e-delivery partnerships with publishers Mary Ann Liebert,
Inc. and Institute of Physics Publishing.
CatchWord, an independent hosting service for scholarly and academic
publishers, will link the references that it maintains on behalf of its
publishers to Infotrieve’s extensive free-to-search database of citations
and abstracts, from which customers can select articles to purchase. Infotrieve
will link to full-text articles on CatchWord’s site once a publisher agreement
is in place.
Known as “The Article Store,” Info-trieve has assembled one of the world’s
largest libraries of article and journal content, a collection that’s constantly
expanding through the company’s ongoing part-nerships and alliances with
publishers, content producers, and hosting services such as CatchWord,
according to the announcement. As part of the new agreement, Infotrieve
will recommend CatchWord to publishers seeking Internet publishing services,
while CatchWord will promote Infotrieve to the publishers it services.
“With approximately 3.5 million users accessing the multidisciplinary
database using Infotrieve, this agreement opens up yet another important
research path to our publishers’ content,” said Chris Beckett, CatchWord’s
sales and marketing director.
“The Infotrieve database contains approximately 10 million abstracts
and over 22 million citations for more than 35,000 of the most important
scholarly journals,” said Jan Peterson, Infotrieve’s vice president of
