SilverPlatter’s WebSPIRS Version 4.1 Now in General Release

SilverPlatter Information, Inc. has announced that its WebSPIRS v4.1 is now in general release. WebSPIRS v4.1 is fully Y2K-compliant and incorporates enhancements in functionality and performance over WebSPIRS 4.0.

WebSPIRS v4.1 includes document delivery and interlibrary loan components, allowing users accessing SilverPlatter databases to order documents from the British Library Document Delivery Center or CISTI. Users can also send requests to the library’s interlibrary loan department. These features may be optionally enabled by the systems administrator.

WebSPIRS v4.1 also supports the Alerts feature, which allows for the creation of SDI profiles that registered users can sign up for, and offers a streamlined print process. It is available for the Solaris, SCO, AIX, NT, and Linux RedHat v5.2 and v6 platforms. All of these features are available for Internet service customers.

WebSPIRS, SilverPlatter’s http gateway and search interface, provides Web access to the SilverPlatter Internet Service and your ERL network through any forms-capable browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer. With WebSPIRS, remote users can search centrally loaded SilverPlatter databases from anywhere.
