Information Today, Inc. Publishes Three Titles

Information Today, Inc. (ITI) has announced the release of the 20022003 edition of Detwiler's Directory of Health and Medical Resources, the 2003 edition of the International Literary Market Place (ILMP), and the 36th edition of the Annual Register of Grant Support.

Detwiler's

Detwiler's Directory of Health and Medical Resources is a guide to more than 2,400 health and medical corporations, associations, state and federal agencies, healthcare market research firms, foundations, and institutes. Covering the U.S., Canada, and select international listings, Detwiler's allows users to access sources and contacts within the healthcare markets.

Now in its ninth edition, the 20022003 edition of Detwiler's is completely updated.

"No entry is compiled from secondhand information," said editor Susan Detwiler. "Unless we have direct contact with the organization through telephone, fax, direct mail, or electronically, it is not listed in this directory. Organizations that consistently refuse response to our queries are not listed. If they won't answer our queries, we can't be sure they'll answer yours."

Featuring more than 300 new listings, Detwiler's has incorporated hundreds of changes in contact names, 347 new Web sites, 318 additional e-mail addresses, and 131 more toll-free numbers. All entries are indexed by subject, service, publication, and acronym, and are also cross-referenced to parent and subsidiary organizations.

ILMP 2003

With global coverage of the book publishing industry in 180 countries, ILMP 2003details everything from publishers, manufacturers, and book dealers to major libraries and literary associations.

The updated ILMP 2003 profiles more than 16,500 book-related concerns around the world. According to the interview, it enumerates every aspect of the publishing community and includes the following:

• Entries that list key personnel, company addresses, interest in buying/selling international rights, and ISBN prefixes

• A calendar of international publishing and book trade events

• Access to publishers via some 142 subject headings that identify the fields in which they publish

Organized in a country-by-country format, ILMP 2003 provides information on 10,500 publishers and literary agents, 1,100 major booksellers and book clubs, and 1,520 major libraries and library associations.

All of the information in International Literary Market Place 2003 can also be found online at literarymarketplace.com. In addition to the listings found in ILMP, the online version includes listings found in Literary Market Place, the insider's guide to the U.S. and Canadian book publishing industry.

Annual Register of Grant Support

The 36th edition of the Annual Register of Grant Support is a comprehensive directory that provides details on more than 3,500 major grant programs.

Each year, more than $200 billion in grants, awards, fellowships, and gifts are available to individuals and organizations. Grant Support 2003 enumerates the programs offered by a broad spectrum of private and public foundations, government agencies, corporations, unions, educational associations, professional organizations, community trusts, and other special interest groups of all types and sizes.

According to the announcement, the directory is the pre-eminent source of funding for individuals and organizations involved in international affairs and area studies; the humanities; urban and regional affairs; education; social, physical, and life sciences; and technology and industry.

There are also programs specifically geared toward women, minorities, the disabled, and other special populations. Grant programs are arranged by topic and cross-referenced by subject area—with 61 specific subcategories. Each program listing includes information on eligibility requirements and restrictions, application procedures and deadlines, and grant size or range. In addition, every listing contains a detailed background on the organization, including the founding date, contact information, and a description of its key areas of interest.

The Annual Register of Grant Support 2003 provides a complete tutorial on preparing a professional-quality grant proposal. Written by the Grantsmanship Center and packed with guidelines, tips, and examples, "Program Planning and Proposal Writing" illustrates how to target the right program, present a workable budget, avoid typical mistakes, enhance credibility, and much more.
