|EBSCO Information Services has announced that more than 4,000 e-journal
titles are now available on EBSCO Online, its Web-based electronic journal
access and management service.
"The 4,000 titles on EBSCO Online truly represent the largest critical
mass of searchable interdisciplinary scholarly content on any e-journal
service," said Mark Williams, EBSCO Online’s manager of content development.
"Other systems may claim larger quantities of content, when in fact certain
subsets of content are available only to particular customers. The full
text of the articles in all 4,000 titles on EBSCO Online is available,
not just citations or abstracts."
EBSCO Online is a research tool that provides full-text access to articles
from scholarly journals published online. With EBSCO Online, users can
search the tables of contents, abstracts, and full text of more than 4,000
e-journals, then link to each article’s full text, all from one Web site.
"Our content team has done an excellent job in obtaining publisher agreements
and getting new content loaded," said John Fitts, vice president and general
manager of EBSCO’s Information Systems and Services. "With 4,000 titles,
we are now ahead of all our competitors."
