Design kudos to the Dialog Intranet Toolkit and a peek into the future
by Susan Feldman

Presents a favorable review of the Dialog Intranet Toolkit ($NA) from Dialog. Says that the Toolkit consists of four integrated tools whose purpose is to help information professionals deliver Dialog content to their intranets, as well as to create an attractive Web site easily using ready-made templates. Requires either Internet Explorer or Netscape 4.0 or above and the abilities to run JavaScript and to accept cookies. Includes a set of ready-made search forms, a tool to create Custom Search Forms, a saved strategy tool, and an intranet delivery tool. Points out that it may not be the perfect intranet tool yet, since its sole focus is to deliver Dialog content, but what it does, it does extremely well. Concludes that since Thomson bought the traditional Dialog half of The Dialog Corporation, the grand plan is to combine all resources into one search and merge the results. Contains four screen displays and a sidebar.
