Cheryl Gowing, Associate Dean, Library Information Management & Access, University of Miami

Cheryl Gowing has served as a member of the librarian faculty since 1987. In her current position as Associate Dean, Library Information Management & Access, she provides leadership and oversight for the Access Services, Cataloging & Metadata Services, Information Systems, Systems Support, and Web & Emerging Technologies Departments. Ms. Gowing received a B.Mus. from Rhode Island College,and her MLS and M.Mus from the University of Michigan. Her previous positions at the University include Music Cataloger, Head of Cataloging, Integrated Library Systems Coordinator, and Director of Technical & Access Services. She was a member of the Innovative Users Group Steering Committee from 2004-07, serving as Chair in 05-06. She remains active within several library professional organizations, including LITA, ALCTS, ACRL, and FLA [Florida Library Association].
