Patricia J. West is the Assistant Director for Research Services at American University Library, where she has worked since 2006. She manages a large staff that provides a suite of reference services, including virtual reference. She also is responsible for all staff training in public services. Patricia holds an MILS from the University of Alabama. Prior to becoming a librarian, she had a long and successful career in public relations and communications.
