W13 – Moving Change Forward

Sunday, April 7, 2013
1:30 PM – 4:30 PM
, Director of Web & New Media Strategy, Office of the CIO, Smithsonian Institution
, Managing Partner, Dysart & Jones Associates

This workshop builds on David Lee King’s morning workshop, Dealing With Tech Change & Customer Engagement, but also stands on its own. Once libraries know what changes they want to make—and must make—they are often stymied by staff and management passive/aggressive resistance, poor executive sponsorship, inertia and/or politics. None of this is unusual, and none of this is insurmountable! This interactive workshop shares some tools and techniques for gaining ground with staff, management and stakeholders to keep the changes moving in the right direction—forward.
